Optimus Ride is One of the First 100 to Join The Climate Pledge

In celebration of Earth Week, we are thrilled to announce Optimus Ride is one of the first 100 signatories to join The Climate Pledge and commit to net-zero carbon by 2040 or sooner.

In celebration of Earth Week, we are thrilled to announce Optimus Ride is one of the first 100 signatories to join The Climate Pledge and commit to net-zero carbon by 2040 or sooner. Optimus Ride is leading the autonomous vehicle and transportation industries as the first independent autonomous mobility company to join the pledge.

The commitments we make as a signatory of The Climate Pledge align with our mission and practices to drive a more sustainable, autonomous future of transportation. As a signatory, we commit to:

  • Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis;
  • Implement decarbonization strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon-emission elimination strategies;
  • Neutralize any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.
“Optimus Ride is thrilled to represent our industry as the first independent autonomous mobility company to join The Climate Pledge, as part of our mission to drive a more sustainable, autonomous future of transportation,” said Sean Harrington, Optimus Ride CEO. “Our autonomous mobility service exclusively operates electric vehicles and focuses on highly concentrated communities with substantial opportunity to reduce the volume of vehicles on the road and the associated carbon emissions. Joining The Climate Pledge aligns with our vision to provide residential communities, corporate and academic campuses, and mixed use developments with safe, convenient, and efficient transportation.”

Sustainability has been core to our mission and practices since the company’s inception. From our company operations to our electric, autonomous mobility service model to our support of our community partner goals, reduction and prevention of carbon-emissions are integrated into everything we do. Our company operations and processes are built and conducted with resource efficiencies and a reduced carbon-footprint at the forefront. Our technology and services are designed using sustainable models. We work with forward-thinking communities and organizations to meet their ambitious sustainability goals by significantly reducing some of the highest contributing causes of pollution and carbon-emission produced in these concentrated environments.

As one of the early signatories of The Climate Pledge, Optimus Ride is proud to work with like-minded companies around the world and across all industries on the road to net-zero. Applying our collective industry expertise, cutting-edge technology and solutions, and passion for sustainable practices we have what it takes to help save our planet and create the economy of the future.

Joining The Climate Pledge is one of many initiatives on our mission to drive a more sustainable, autonomous future of transportation. We’re optimistic and dedicated to a more sustainable future for all!
